Minutes of the Annual Parish Meeting of Wadsworth Parish Council held on Tuesday 25th April 2017 at Wadsworth Community Centre, Wadsworth, Hebden Bridge

MEMBERS PRESENT: Councillor Lynch (Chairman),Councillors Wade,Ring,Fowler,Beasley,Bell,Kimber and Spencer.

Apologies were received from Councillor Hughes.


12 members of the public were present.
 
1    MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL PARISH MEETING HELD ON 26th APRIL 2016
It was proposed by Councillor Bell that the above minutes be approved as a correct record; seconded by Councillor Fowler,all in favour and RESOLVED.

2    THE STATEMENT OF INCOME & EXPENDITURE FOR THE YEAR 2016/2017
The Clerk gave a brief summary of spending throughout the year.It was reported that having an up to date website was a legal requirement of the Transparency Code which all Councils have had to adopt.Although a grant had covered some of the costs in this first year the on going running costs would be an added expenditure for the Council in the future.

3    THE ANNUAL REPORT ON THE WORK OF THE PARISH COUNCIL 2016/17
The Chairman,Councillor Lynch, reported that the Christmas hampers had been gratefully appreciated by those who had received them and he thanked Councillor Hughes for help in distributing them.He stated that new benches had been purchased along with a new picnic table for the playgrounds.He thanked Mary Lawrence for producing the newsletter and the Environment Group for all their work.He also thanked Councillor Ring for all her hardwork running the luncheon club and that the Council were looking forward to the refurbishments at the Community Centre.

4    ANY MATTERS WHICH PARISHIONERS WISH TO RAISE
Concerns were raised by parishioners regarding overgrown trees & bushes, especially round the bus shelters and at Carr Head. Councillors confirmed that this will be looked at.There were also concerns about the lack of chevron signs at Bedlum bend which have been blown down. Councillor Beasley said that he would contact Highways Dept regarding this matter.

The meeting closed at 7.20pm.
